LEWISTOWN - Eleanor M. Toner, 93, formerly of 7 Goss Terrace, Lewistown, died at 6:34 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, at Golden LivingCenter - William Penn.
Born on Sept. 29, 1919, in Beaver Springs, she was a daughter of the late Arbor D. and Annie (Markley) Bair.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Toner, on Oct. 10, 1972, one sister, Josephine Shepherd, and a son-in-law, John Powell.
Eleanor is survived by: two daughters, Darlis Smiley and husband, Josef, and Linda Powell, both of Lewistown; two grandchildren, Tracy Taylor and John Powell Jr., and wife, Sherri, both of Lewistown; and a half brother, Neil Bair, of Burnham.
Earlier in life, she worked as a waitress at Green Gables, Tony's Cottage Inn, and then as a sales lady at Town & Country for eight years.
She belonged to Church of Christ and the Lewistown Hospital Auxiliary.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013, at Juniata Memorial Park with the Rev. John Walters officiating.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Inc., Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Golden LivingCenter - William Penn, 163 Summit Drive, Lewistown, PA 17044.
