PORT ROYAL-John Z. Beiler, 53, of Port Royal, died Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013, due to an accident on his farm.
Born, Feb. 8, 1960, in Lancaster, he was the son of Noah and Lydia (Zook) Beiler of Lancaster.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by: his wife, Katie (Stoltzfus) Beiler, whom he married Sept. 17, 1981; seven children and two grandchildren, Dorcas Beiler, John Beiler, Stephen Beiler and fiance, Courtney Everitt, Priscilla Beiler, Nathan Beiler, and Lydia Beiler, all of Port Royal, and Mark Beiler and wife, Alta, and their two daughters, Katelyn and Tiana, of Goshen, Ind.; brothers and sisters, Susie Beiler, Anna Beiler, Sara Ellen Beiler, and Reuben Beiler and wife, Naomi, all of Lancaster, and Ivan Beiler and wife, Susie, Marion Center.
He was preceded in death by a stillborn son, David Michael Beiler.
He was a dairy farmer and was a true farmer at heart, having been involved with farming all of his life.
He was a member of the Tuscarora Valley Chapel, were he served as assistant pastor.
His funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 9, at Cedar Grove Brethren in Christ Church, 287 Deerville Road, Mifflintown. Interment will be in Shade Mountain Christian Fellowship Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 8, at Cedar Grove BIC Church.
