Richard T. Ritter, 89, of Burnham, died at 7:50 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013, at Golden Living Center William Penn.
Born on October 14, 1923, in Burnham, he was the son of the late Thomas M. and Ella (Badger) Ritter.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, LaMoian M. (Morrison) Ritter on Sept. 21, 2012.

He also was preceded in death by one brother, George F. Ritter, and two sisters, Dorothy Reed and Mary Loudenslager.
Richard is survived by his son, Richard E. Ritter and wife, Tammie, and grandson, Joshua, of Yeagertown, and brother, John J. Ritter and wife, Luella, of McClure.
Richard served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was a recipient of the European Purple Heart.
He was employed by Burnham Borough for 26 years, retiring in 1986.
Richard was a member of Calvary Bible Church, VFW Stroup Alexander Post, Belleville, Disabled American Veterans, Juniata Valley Chapter, Life Member of Lt. George H. Ramer Chapter, Lewisburg.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Inc., 108 First Ave., Burnham, with Rev. Howard Houtz officiating.
A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Interment with military honors will take place in Juniata Memorial Park.
