Dorothy J. Wileman

MIFFLINTOWN - Dorothy J. Wileman, 84, of the Bridges at Brookline, Mifflintown, and formerly of East Waterford, died at 1:05 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013, at Brookline.

Born on June 29, 1929, in Cross Keys, Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late Calvin and Beulah (Emory) Rowles. On May 4, 1946, she married William E. Wileman, with whom she shared more than 33 years of marriage until he preceded her in death on June 2, 1979.

Surviving are: her children, Carol Zook and her husband, Steven, of Licking Creek, Gloria St. John and her husband, Francis, Lois Grassmyer and her husband, James, and Susan Goshorn, all of Port Royal, Larry Wileman, of Mifflintown, Cheryl Wileman, of Chambersburg, and Linda Breon and her husband, Richard, of Cross Keys; three sisters, Freeda Bargo and Mary Jane Dunn, both of Mifflintown, and Yvonne Murphy, of Mifflin; a brother, Harold Rowles, of Rockville; and she leaves behind 19 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great- grandchildren.

Three brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.

Mrs. Wileman was a Methodist by faith and was a member of the ladies auxiliaries of the Crawford-Brubaker VFW Post 5863 and American Legion Post 298, both of Mifflintown, and a member of the East Waterford Fire Co.

Dorothy adored her family, enjoyed making quilts for everybody and relished decorating her home for every holiday. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles and word searches, tending to her flowers and following her beloved Phillies and Eagles.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, at Brown Funeral Homes Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown, with Pastor Judy Rowles officiating. Interment will follow in East Waterford Cemetery, East Waterford.

A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013, at the funeral home.
