HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - Howard Rex Turner, 84, of Hot Springs, Ark., passed away on July 15, 2013.
Howard was born on Sept. 20, 1928, in Sherburne, N.Y., to the late Harold Turner and Elizabeth (Knapp) Turner.
He is survived by: his brother, Donald Turner, of Earlville, N.Y.; children, Sharon Hopkins, of York, Douglas Turner, of Hot Springs, Ark., Martha Robin Goode, of Arkansas City, Kan., and Jay Turner, of St. Louis; and their families, including four grandchildren.

Howard was preceded in death by: his parents; sister, Alice; brother, Duane; and wife, Doe.
After serving in the U.S. Army, he attended Clarkson College of Technology and graduated with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
Howard married Doris "Doe" Jones on July 11, 1953. Howard and Doe initially resided in York, followed by several years in Belleville, before moving to California, Illinois and Arkansas.
While residing in Belleville, Howard worked at Standard Steel in Burnham, and was engaged with various community organizations including the Lion's Club and West Kishacoquillas Presbyterian Church.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 22, 2013, at Henderson Funeral Home, 3813 W. Main St., Belleville, with Pastor Bill King, of West Kishacoquillas Presbyterian Church, officiating.
A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
