Richard L. Beers

COATESVILLE - Richard L. Beers, 60, of White Pine Lane, Bloomsburg, passed away on July 3, 2013, at Brandywine Hospital, Coatesville.

He was born on Oct. 23, 1952, in Lewistown, a son of the late William K. Sr. and Edith I. (Gibboney) Beers.

He is survived by: his wife of 38 years, the former Mary Miller; a son, Roger and his wife, Kelly Beers, of Bloomsburg; a daughter, Sheila M. Beers, of Elysburg; two grandchildren, Lindsey and Zachary; and four brothers, William K. Jr. and his wife, Cuma Beers, of McVeytown, Thomas and his wife, Ruthie Beers, Rex Beers and Mark Beers, all of Lewistown.

Richard proudly served in the Army as a crew chief mechanic, a veteran of the Vietnam Era and was stationed in Korea.

Richard's passion was his job. He worked as the lead helicopter mechanic for Geisinger Life Flight for more than 25 years. He currently was employed with the Sikorsky firm in West Chester, where he worked for the past five years.

In his spare time, he enjoyed photography, motorcycles and bass fishing with his family.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, July 12, 2013, at the Brady Funeral Home, 320 Church St., Danville, with the Rev. Edmund Minnich, retired, officiating. Full military rites will follow the funeral service. Friends may call from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home
