Dr. Kirk Gilbert, right, science instructor at the Penn State Learning Center in Lewistown, discusses using protein gels to manipulate DNA with students in the fourth annual Mifflin County Summer Science Youth Camp Monday at the health and science lab in Lewistown. The theme of this year’s week-long camp is biotechnology and robotics. Students will participate in hands-on experiments investigating the molecular world and how molecules are used in research and medicine. They will also learn about robotics and how to build their own robot.
