LEWISTOWN - Russell H. Donahey, age 60, of 14069 Wrangletown Road, Mount Union, went to be with the Lord at 9:55 p.m., Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at Lewistown Hospital, following a courageous, two-year battle with cancer.
He was born on Oct. 21, 1952, in Lewistown, the son of the late Harold and Audrey (Shirey) Donahey.
He was united in marriage to Bellene M. (Melnyk) Donahey on March 5, 1983, at Calvary Bible Church, Newton Hamilton. His wife survives at their home.
He also is survived by: his mother-in-law, Clarabelle Melnyk, of Orbisonia; two aunts, Helen Foust and husband, Robert, of McVeytown, and Mabel Bilger and husband, Jesse, of McVeytown; and many cousins.
He was a 1970 graduate of Mount Union Area High School.
He worked for a long time with his father managing the Union Auto Parts store, Mount Union. He also worked at Fairmont Dairy, Belleville, for several years, at Sheehan Motors, Huntingdon, as a parts manager, and most recently as the food service manager at the Mount Union Minit Mart.
He was very fond of his lab mix, Tasha.
The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. today, at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union, with Pastor Kenneth Patterson officiating. Interment will be in Haven Rest Memorial Park, Croghan Pike, Shirleysburg.
Friends will be received from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. today, at the funeral home.
