BURNHAM - William H. Mayhue, 88, of Burnham, died at 3:45 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2013, at Golden LivingCenter - William Penn.
Born June 15, 1924, in Tyrone, he was a son of the late Earl and Mabel (Gross) Mayhue.
He is survived by: his wife of 67 years, Louise (Smith) Mayhue; his son, Stephen J. Mayhue, of Burnham; grandchildren, Matthew Varner and wife, Tina, Scott Hartsock and wife, Corie, Toby Hartsock and wife, Danielle and James Mayhue; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his sister, Betty L. Dillman, of Thompsontown.
He was preceded in death by: daughter, Sharon Elliott; brother, Gilbert Mayhue; and sisters, Elizabeth Bollman and Mary Jane Baker.
William was a graduate of Lewistown Vo-Tech in 1942 and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II.
He was employed as a crane operator at Standard Steel in Burnham for 43 years.
He was a member of the United Steelworkers Local 1940.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 8, 2013, at the Paintersville C&MA Church, 3195 Back Maitland Road, Lewistown, with Pastor Scott Hartsock officiating.
