LEWISTOWN - A housekeeper working for a couple residing on Laurel Road, Lewistown, was arrested May 17 after she stole several diamond rings and pawned them at Foss Jewelers, police report.
Mifflin County Regional Police said Angela D. Fields, 37, of Lewistown, stole the diamond rings on May 15 and pawned them the same day.
Police said employees at Foss Jewelers recognized the jewelry as belonging to the victims. According to the report, Foss Jewelers contacted the victims, who then contacted MCRPD.
Police said after an investigation into the theft, police learned Fields had also stolen other personal items from the Laurel Road couple. Police said the total value of the items taken equaled more than $7,000.
According to the report, Fields was arrested on felony charges of theft and receiving stolen property, as well as a misdemeanor charge of theft by deception for selling the stolen items to Foss Jewelers.
Police said Fields was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Aaron Gingrich and was lodged in Mifflin County Correctional Facility.
Police said the stolen items were seized and returned to the owners.
