To the editor:
As a concerned senior citizen of Mifflin County, I would like to make some suggestions for the contractors that are building apartments for seniors.
First, install tall toilets because the old knees do not work like they did in years past. Second, put in stall showers. Stepping into a bathtub is very difficult and dangerous as we age. Falls are the number one cause of injuries for seniors. Plus, the fact that most seniors take showers because they are unable to get out of a tub from a sitting position.
If you must put in bathtubs, at least put the grab bar at the opposite end from the faucet. No one gets into the tub from that end. Thank you.
