McVEYTOWN - Donald B. Cavanaugh, 70, of Shagbark Lane, McVeytown, went to be with the Lord at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 21, 2013, at Hershey Medical Center.
Born June 23, 1942, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Joseph and Lillian (Conner) Cavanaugh. His wife, Joyce A. (Houtz) Cavanaugh, whom he married on June 12, 1964, survives.
Also surviving are: three children, John S. Cavanaugh and wife, Michelle, of Allentown, Amy C. Mulder and husband, John E. Jr., of Zionsville, and Kristi A. Adams and husband, John, of Milford, Del.; three siblings, Eva Forgy and husband, Charles, of McVeytown, Kay Kenepp, of Downingtown, and Ray Cavanaugh and wife, Linda, of Belleville; and four grandchildren, Ashley Cavanaugh, Stephen Cavanaugh, John Mulder and Jillian Mulder.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Marvin and George Cavanaugh, and a sister, Patricia Rome.
He retired from Ford New Holland, in Belleville, where he was employed as a supervisor.
Don was a member of Pine Glen Church of the Brethren.
He enjoyed traveling, working outside and especially spending time with his family.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2013, at Pine Glen Church of the Brethren, with the Rev. Donald E. Peters Jr. officiating.
Friends may call from from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, at the church.
