MIFFLINTOWN - George N. Colpetzer, 92, died at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at Brookline Manor, in Mifflintown.
Born March 3, 1921, in Ferguson Township, Centre County, he was a son of the late John W. and Lillie L. (Shuey) Colpetzer.
He was preceded in death by: his wife, Patricia A. (Smeltzer) Colpetzer, on Feb. 2, 2006; seven brothers; five sisters; and a half sister.
George is survived by: his children, Norma McCalips and husband, John H., of Dillsburg, Dora Sollers and husband, Wayne R., of McVeytown, and Sharon Baxley and husband, Rickey, of Trezevant, Tenn; grandchildren, Micki Sollers, Tyler McCalips, and Scott Sollers and wife, Nicole; his great-grandchildren, Caleb and Colin Sollers; and his sisters, Helen Maude Barton, of Fleming, and Sarah Ross, of Bellefonte.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II.
He last worked as a custodian at Lewistown Hospital for 10 and a half years, retiring in 1989.
He attended the Lewistown CMA Church.
His funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 22, 2013, at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with the Rev. John Looney officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park, where graveside military rites will be conducted by the VFW Post 7011, Lewistown.
His family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 21, at the funeral home.
