CARLISLE - Leota C. Briggs, 75, of Mechanicsburg, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2013, at Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
Born Aug. 2, 1937, in Perulack, Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late Maurice and Flora (Whitesel) Campbell.
Leota was a beautician, a retired bus driver for West Shore School District and a member of Seaside United Methodist Church, in North Carolina.

Surviving are: her husband of 56 years, Jay F. Briggs; three children, Leslie B. Cwalina and husband, David, of Mechanicsburg, Scott D. Briggs and wife, Helene, of Camp Hill, and Jennifer P. Briggs, of New Cumberland; three grandchildren, Colin Cwalina, of Mechanicsburg, and Noah and Samuel Briggs, of Camp Hill; two step grandchildren, Amy Otteni, of Arlington, Va., and Lori Cwalina, of Washington, D.C.; two stepgreat- granddaughters, Caroline and Helen Otteni; and two sisters, Gladys Harlan and Maxine Lawson, both of Honey Grove.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 1480 Jerusalem Road, Mechanicsburg. Burial will be in East Waterford Cemetery, Juniata County, at the convenience of the family.
There will be a visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, at the church.
