NEW BLOOMFIELD - The Juniata tennis squad hit the road Wednesday to face off against non-league foe Carson Long with hopes of notching its second win on the season and remaining unbeaten. The Indians did just that, taking the match 7-0.
All five of Juniata's singles participants won their matches in straight sets. Brad Lipka and Ricky Heck each took the first sets 6-0 and finished their matches 6-1 while teammates Isaac Eck, Logan Aurand and Luis Pacheco also defeated their opponents in convincing fashion.
The Indians also swept the doubles matches, 10-0 and 10-3. Eck and Pacheco teamed up to trounce Carson Long's first doubles duo and Chantz Imes and Brad Strawser had their opponents on the run as well.
"Carson Long was missing a couple of their key players, so they didn't have very much depth, but we had good wins all around, and tomorrow we expect another," Juniata coach Alan Musselman said.
Juniata (2-0) hosts Clearfield today.
