MIFFLINTOWN - The Juniata County Commissioners met Tuesday to take action on several routine business items.
During the meeting, the board:
Reviewed the February 2013 Summary of Collections Report -Fines and Costs, submitted by Jacqueline T. Leister, magisterial district judge.
Reviewed the February 2013 Juniata County Adult and Juvenile Probation Department monthly report, prepared by Michelle A. Beaver, chief probation officer.
Approved tax exonerations for Fayette and Monroe townships.
Approved Purchase of Service Agreements between Juniata County Children and Youth Services, the Juniata County Probation Department and Diversified Treatment Alternatives and Juniata County Probation Department and Family Care for Children and Youth Inc. The separate agreements will be in effect from July 1, 2012, through June 30.
Approved an agreement between Children and Youth Services and Avanco International Inc. for Child Accounting and Profile System Version 8 upgrades.
Approved the Hazardous Materials Emergency Response Service Agreement 2013, submitted by Allen Weaver, emergency services director.
Approved the re-appointment of Geraldine Gerber, of McAlisterville, to another three-year term on the Juniata County Library Board of Trustees, effective April 1.
Approved the hiring of Bradley W. Kerstetter to fill the associate planner position vacated in December by Mark Colussy. The position will be part-time, 15 hours per week.
Ratified CDBG-IDIS check No. 1,163 in the amount of $6,700 to Hostler Custom Woodworks for a housing rehabilitation project.
Ratified Juniata County hazardous materials check No. 1,152 in the amount of $200.21 to Wex Bank for fuel.
Ratified checks Nos. 37,123 to 37,173 in the amount of $128,916.25.
Approved checks Nos. 37,174 to 37,236 in the amount of $167,208.21.
In a meeting of the salary board, including the Juniata County Commissioners and Treasurer Sandra King, the board approved a motion to set the hourly rate of pay for the position of associate planner at $13 per hour.
Meetings are held at 10 a.m. on Tuesdays in the Bousum Building, 26 N. Main St., Mifflintown.
