LEWISTOWN - Dorothy Jane Moore, 72, of 154 Ort Valley Road, Lewistown, passed away at 10:15 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at Golden LivingCenter William Penn.

Born on April 5, 1940, in Huntingdon, she was the daughter of the late Miles E. and Catharine M. (Stapleton) Dell.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Miles (Butch) Dell Jr., of Mill Creek.

Jane is survived by her husband, Arthur R. Moore, whom she married on Dec. 20, 1958, at EUB Church, in Huntingdon.

She had no children and is survived by: sister, Patricia Bukowski, of Huntingdon; brother, Stanley Dell, of Mill Creek; nieces; and a nephew.

She was educated in the public school system of Huntingdon County and graduated from Saltillo High School in 1958. She had enjoyed renewing old friendships with her former classmates over the years at her class reunions.

Jane was an active member of Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 159, Huntingdon, Juniata Valley Court 121, Order of the Amaranth, Huntingdon, and Mifflin County Book Club.

She was employed by the C. H. Miller Co., Huntingdon, as an inventory control clerk in the automotive department until 1982 when she moved with her husband to Lewistown. In Lewistown, she was employed by Hess Tire & Auto Parts as an inventory control clerk/buyer until her retirement in 2002.

She loved cooking and was considered to be an excellent cook by all who had the opportunity to enjoy the food she prepared.

Jane was an avid reader and enjoyed the fellowship of all the members of the book club.

It was her request and direction that she be cremated with no funeral service or viewing.

Interment will take place in Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown.
