Mandy J. Bell, of Lewistown, and Brian J. Schmella, of Coraopolis, are engaged to be married on Sept. 14 at Heinz History Center in Pittsburgh.
She is the daughter of Daniel and Kim Bell, of Lewistown. She is a 2001 graduate of Lewistown Area High School. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of Pittsburgh in 2005, and a doctorate in nursing from the University of Pittsburgh in 2012. She is employed as a postdoctoral scholar at Magee-Women's Research Institute in Pittsburgh.
He is the son of Bob and Marian Schmella, of Coraopolis. He is a 2001 graduate of Montour High School. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in technical writing and communication, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Carnegie Mellon University in 2005, and a Master of Arts degree in professional writing from Carnegie Mellon University in 2007. He is employed as a technical writer at General Dynamics C4 Systems in Pittsburgh.
