Donald E. Carolus

LOCKPORT, N.Y. - Donald E. Carolus died Feb. 10, 2013, in the care of Niagara Hospice House, in Lockport, N.Y.

He was born Jan. 12, 1938, in Lewistown, to the late Florence Carolus.

Donald proudly served in the Air Force for eight years and owned and operated Carolus Tax Service for 41 years. He also worked as an inspector for Harrison Radiator and did some construction work in Pennsylvania for a short time.

He was a member of American Legion B. Leo Dolan 410, Lock City Moose, Eagles Aerie 1411 and was a permanent camper at Niagara County Camp Resort for more than 20 years. Donald was good with his hands and loved making and building things.

He is survived by: his wife of more than 50 years, Rose Marie; a son, Mitchell (Maureen) Carolus, of Lockport, N.Y.; two sisters, Kathryn (Ken) Becker, of Texas, and Debbie St. Cyr, of Lockport; and grandchildren, Adam (Stephanie) Carolus, Jason Carolus and Holly Wilkinson.

Donald is also survived by: stepgrandchildren, Amanda, Elizabeth and Stacey Cuzzacrea; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at Ross Funeral Home Gaul Chapel, 263 East Ave., Lockport, N.Y.

Friends may visit from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, at the funeral home.
