Ruth S. Stoner

BELLEVILLE - Ruth S. Stoner, 78, of Valley View Haven, Belleville, formerly of Centre Hall, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, at Valley View Haven.

She was born March 8, 1934, in College Township, a daughter of the late Clarence Rubin and Hilda Rebecca (Weber) Sheesley.

On Jan. 3, 1953, she married Arthur B. Stoner, who survives in Belleville.

Ruth graduated from State College High School in 1952. She was employed as an administrative assistant in the registrar's office at Penn State University. After her retirement, she worked as a secretary at Calvary Bible Church, Centre Hall.

While living in Centre Hall, she was a member of Calvary Bible Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher and was currently a member of Kish Valley Grace Brethren Church, in Reedsville.

Among the things she enjoyed most was spending time with her family. She found great value and pleasure in putting others first and serving them in various ways, including volunteering in a hospice program and at Valley View Haven Retirement Community. She was an avid reader who also enjoyed working with flowers.

Mrs. Stoner is survived by: two daughters, Le Ann S. Rossman, of State College, and Diane Stoner, of Centre Hall; two granddaughters, Kendra Conkle and her husband, Tim, and Brittany Stoner; and two great-grandsons, Levi Conkle and Aiden Stoner.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Adilene Spayd.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service P. C., 226 S. Pennsylvania Ave., Centre Hall, with the Reverend Douglas Sabin officiating. Burial will be held in Centre County Memorial Park, 1032 Benner Pike, State College.

Friends and family will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ruth's memory may be made to Kish Valley Grace Brethren Church, 99 Taylor Drive, Reedsville, PA 17084, or to Valley View Retirement Community, 4702 E. Main St., Belleville, PA 17004.
