MIFFLINTOWN - Tara Ebright Swartz has announced her intention to run for Magisterial District Judge in District 41-3-01, which includes Mifflintown and Thompsontown boroughs and Delaware, Fayette, Fermanagh, Monroe, Greenwood and Susquehanna townships in Juniata County.
Swartz is the daughter of the late William N. Ebright, of Mifflintown and Catherine M. Wilson, of Wakeman, Ohio. She is the daughter-in-law of Melvin and Linda Swartz, of Mifflintown.
Swartz, 42, resides in Fermanagh Township with her husband, Doug. She has one son, three stepchildren and one stepgranddaughter.
Since earning her associate's degree in paralegal studies in 2001, Swartz has been employed as a full-time paralegal. In August, she earned her CORE Registered Paralegal credential after passing the Paralegal CORE Competency Exam, a national exam administered by the National Federation of Paralegal Associations.
Swartz said she plans to submit an application to the Keystone Alliance of Paralegal Associations for approval as a Pennsylvania Certified Paralegal.
Swartz said she would be honored to serve the citizens of Juniata County and believes that her background and familiarity with the legal system will make an impact in the community.
Swartz is a member of the Central Pennsylvania Paralegal Association, the National Notary Association and the National Rifle Association. She is an avid hunter and also enjoys motorcycle riding, swimming, and fishing.
Swartz said she plans to cross-file on both the Republican and Democratic tickets in the upcoming primary election.
