LEWISTOWN - A Flood Watch and Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued from the National Weather Service in State College for much of Central Pennsylvania, including the Juniata Valley.
A line of strong thunderstorms approaching from the west has the potential to bring heavy rain and wind gusts in excess of 60 mph Wednesday afternoon.
A flood watch means there is a potential for small streams and creeks, as well as poor drainage areas to flood.
The Juniata River is expected to crest Thursday afternoon at 17 1/2 feet, below flood stage.
