LEWISTOWN - Pauline (Petron) Shelton, 81, of 610 N. Jefferson St., Mount Union, died on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, at Lewistown Hospital.
Mrs. Shelton was born on May 29, 1931, in Mount Union, a daughter of the late John and Mary (Maskulyak) Petron.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Paul Shelton.
Surviving are: two daughters, Teresa "Terri" and husband, Rodney, of Lewistown, and Paula Alexander and husband, John, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two stepchildren, Karen Shelton, of Berlin, N.J., and Ronald Shelton, of South Hampton, N.Y.; four grandchildren, Joshua and Kali Hobbs and Zachary and Cassidy Alexander; five sisters; and one brother.
Mrs. Shelton was preceded in death by four brothers.
Mrs. Shelton was employed for more than 30 years at Avtex Fibers and Specialty Yarns, Lewistown, and prior to that worked at L. Greif Bros. Mfg., Mount Union.
She served with the U.S. Marine Corps as a sergeant, where she received specialty training in weather observation and reporting.
Mrs. Shelton will be remembered for her loving and caring attitude and willingness to help people. She loved spending time on her porch and talking with friends and neighbors.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union, with Father Christos Patitsas officiating. Interment will be held in the Garden of Honor, Mount Union Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, at the funeral home.
