MOUNT JOY - J. Lloyd Stoner, 89, of Mount Joy, passed away Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at Lancaster General Hospital.
Born in East Donegal Township, he was the son of the late Christian and Marie (Hesslet) Stoner. Lloyd was the husband of Edith (Lehman) Stoner, with whom he celebrated 65 years of marriage this past March.
Lloyd retired from Mount Joy Wire Corporation after 25 years of service in 1988. He previously owned and operated a farm on Donegal Springs Road for 20 years. After his retirement in 1988, Lloyd and his wife moved to their hunting camp in Mifflin County until they returned to Mount Joy in 2007. He was a member and trustee of Glossbrenner United Methodist Church and a member of the Fort Granville Grange, in Mifflin County.

In addition to his wife, Edith, he is survived by: four children, Bonita Seidel, wife of Terry, of Ephrata, Barry Stoner, husband of Barbara, of East Donegal Township, Brenda Stoner, of Dallastown, and Barbara Bierly of Coburn; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a great-grandchild on the way.
Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
