YEAGERTOWN - Mary Alice Firth, of State College, and formerly of Yeagertown, died at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013.
Born Sept. 16, 1924, in Burnham, she was a daughter of the late F. Michael and Rhoda A. (Carolus) Cunningham.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Herbert W. Firth Jr., on Aug. 4, 2001; her brothers, Robert, Frank, Edward and Walter Cunningham; and her sisters, Mildred Hummel, Rebecca Lohr and Ethel Kvist.

Mary is survived by: her children, Susan E. Berich and husband, Thomas, of Yeagertown, Daniel B. Firth and wife, Suzanne (Deihl), and Michele (Firth) McElhaney and husband, Thomas, of State College; grandchildren, Dr. Bridget Berich and husband, Dr. Glenn Carnicelli, Anthony C. Berich and wife, Kristin, Zachary Firth and wife, Kristie, Kyle Firth, Justin McElhaney and Tyler McElhaney; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was a graduate of Burnham High School and she retired from Fisher Electronics/Sanyo.
She was a member of the Little Valley Presbyterian Church.
Mary loved spending time with her family and absolutely cherished her grandchildren. She was an avid knitter, who loved crafts and reading.
Viewing and interment, which will be held at Little Valley Presbyterian Cemetery, will be private.
A public memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at Little Valley Presbyterian Church, 1392 Vira Road, Lewistown, with the Revs. Joel T. Blunk and Robert Zorn officiating.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of the Heller-Hoenstine Burnham Funeral Home, First Avenue, Burnham.
