LEWISTOWN - Three people were injured after a one-vehicle accident that closed an exit ramp for approximately an hour at about 5:15 p.m. Thursday, on the Walnut Street exit off eastbound U.S. 322 in Lewistown.
A female pedestrian was flown by medical helicopter to an undisclosed trauma center after being struck by a silver sedan, Lewistown Police Department said. The driver of the sedan and one passenger were taken by ambulance to Lewistown Hospital's emergency room for treatment of injuries suffered in the crash.
Sgt. Michael Hoskavich from Lewistown Police Department said speed was a factor in the crash and the driver lost control, striking a utility pole. After that, he said, the vehicle re-engaged and traveled backwards.
