HONEY GROVE - Sarah Y. Kint, 94, of Honey Grove, died at 3:55 a.m. Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, at Hearthside Rehab and Nursing Center, in State College.
Born Aug. 24, 1918, in Milford Township, Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late Jacob M. and Ella Jane (Casner) Yohn. Her husband, Kenneth C. Kint, preceded her in death on Jan. 13, 2000.
She is survived by: a son, Perry R. Kint, of Honey Grove; granddaughter, Kimberly E. Burdge and husband, Larry, of Honey Grove; and one great- grandson, Joshua D. Burdge, of Honey Grove.
She was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers, making her the last of her family.
She was also preceded in death by: an infant daughter; a grandson, Mark P. Kint, who died July 22, 2002; and an infant great- granddaughter, Ashley.
She was a 1936 graduate of Port Royal High School.
In her early years, she worked at the Port Royal garment factory and was a homemaker.
She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, East Waterford. She was also a member of the former Honey Grove United Methodist Church, where she served as Sunday school teacher and Communion steward for 30 years.
Mrs. Kint was on many church committees and was a chuch janitor for many years.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at Rex Funeral Home, Port Royal, with the Rev. Donald C. Walters officiating.
Interment will be private at McCulloch's Mills Cemetery, Tuscarora Township, Juniata County.
A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Thursday, at the funeral home.
