Quentin L. Morris

BELLEVILLE - Quentin L. Morris, 84, of Valley View Terrace, apartment A104, Belleville, died at 6:25 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at Valley View Haven.

Born April 28, 1928, in Parkesburg, he was the son of the late John Francis and Ruth (Eberly) Morris.

He is survived by: his wife, Shirley (Headings) Morris, whom he married on Dec. 19, 1953; children, Terry L. Morris, of Sinking Spring, and Cheryl A. Nelson and husband, William, of Leechburg; and grandsons, Jordan Morris and Mitchell Morris.

He served as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1953. He then became employed as a branch manager of the National Bank of Chester Valley, now PNC Bank. He worked there for 17 years. After that, he became the head carpenter of the maintenance department at Coatesville School District, where he retired with 20 years of service.

Quentin was a member of the West Kishacoquillas Presbyterian Church, in Belleville, where he served as an elder. He was an active volunteer at Valley View Haven, and was a former scout master in Upper Octorara for eight years. He was also a former member of the Order of the Arrow.

A memorial service will be held in his memory at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at Valley View Haven Chapel with Pastors Gerald Peachey and Nelson Roth officiating. Burial will take place at Machpelah Cemetery, in Belleville. His family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of the service on Thursday, at the chapel.

Arrangements are under the care of Henderson Funeral Home, Inc., 3813 W. Main St., Belleville.
