McVEYTOWN - Sara A. Reynolds, 93, formerly of McVeytown, died at 5:40 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at the Bridges at Brookline, in Mifflintown.
Born Feb. 10, 1919, in Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Catherine (Fulkroad) Kain. Her husband, Robert D. Reynolds, preceded her in death on May 7, 2009.
Surviving are: four children, Judy A. Bush, of Tucson, Ariz., Richard L. Reynolds and wife, Sandy, of McVeytown, Dean C. Reynolds and wife, Kathy, of New Cumberland, and Dale A. Reynolds, of Bernville; three sisters, Margaret Alford, of Virginia, Dorothy McCurdy and husband, Lester, of Colebrook, and Helen Wilson, of Milroy; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: a sister, Cora Wilson; a brother, William Kain; and one grandson.
Sara was a homemaker and a member of the McVeytown Presbyterian Church where she served as a deaconess and Sunday school teacher for many years. She was also an avid sewer and quilter.
Private interment will be held at Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown, with the Rev. Scott Andrews officiating.
A memorial service is planned for a future date, and will be announced when arrangements are complete.
