HARRISBURG (AP) - Police were engaged in a standoff early Tuesday morning with a suspect who authorities say is holed up in an apartment in Harrisburg.

As of press time, the standoff was happening at the Hall Manor apartments, where the man had been holding police at bay. Authorities said the man had been firing shots and that one officer had been injured.

Police were been trying to talk to the man using a bullhorn. Dauphin County District Attorney Ed Marsico said despite police attempts to negotiate, the suspect continued to fire.

Marsico said via Twitter that the shooter is a homicide suspect from Philadelphia.

Marsico said an officer was wounded, but that the injuries are not life-threatening.
