LEWISTOWN - Tammy Jean Shirk, 49, of 36 Scenic Drive, Lewistown, was called to her heavenly home at 7:50 a.m. Friday, Dec.14, 2012.
She was born on July 30, 1963, in Harrisburg.
She is survived by her loving father and mother, James Y. and Elona (Thompson) Shirk, of 1873 Lions Park Road, Port Royal.
Also surviving are: two brothers, Gerald J. Shirk and wife, Huyen, of Port Royal, and Glenn D. Shirk, of Mechanicsburg; three nephews, Aaron, Nathan and Caleb Shirk; as well as one niece, Alexandria Shirk.
Tammy graduated from the Capital Area Intermediate Unit, in Camp Hill. She attended CIT, SKILLS, GANOE, and COMPASS?CORNER.
She was a regular attendee of Faith Bible Church, of Port Royal.
Many of the activities that Tammy enjoyed included swimming, fishing, Sunday School, puzzles, COMPASS?CORNER and spending time with friends at her home.
Everyone will miss Tammy, including many loving caregivers at her home on Scenic Drive, but all will be comforted in knowing that Tammy is resting with her eternal caregiver, Christ Jesus.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at Rex Funeral Home, Port Royal. Interment will be held in New Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal.
A viewing will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at the funeral home.
