Band boosters say thanks to school music backers

December 12, 2012
Lewistown Sentinel

To the editor:

On behalf of the Juniata-Tuscarora Band Boosters, I would like to thank this newspaper for providing the forum with which to pay tribute to several organizations. During a time of strained budgets, these groups have given generous and unsolicited financial support to our music program. They are:

American Legion 298; Brubaker/Crawford Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5863; Juniata Cultural Arts Committee; Lauver Brothers Busing; Lewistown Music Club.

Also, we would like to thank everyone who supports our fundraising efforts by purchasing sandwiches, Wolfgang Candy, and Corbi's Pizza. Your vital support of our music program provides meaningful opportunities for our student musicians.

Additionally, we would like to express our deep appreciation to our directors, Mr. Kevin Cunningham and Mr. Michael Trego. These gentlemen are not only gifted musicians, but they inspire their students to strive for excellence as they lead by example. Because of their outstanding leadership, our music program is a source of pride to all who experience it.

Special recognition must be given to Mrs. Rebecca Trego, as well. As our elementary instructor, she builds the foundation of our music program and strives to instill the love of music in each student.

We are extremely grateful to all who assist in keeping music alive in our schools.
