LEWISTOWN - Phyllis V. Zeigler, 91, formerly of Lewistown, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012. Her last months were spent in the loving home of Concordia of Cranberry, and her final few days with the loving folks at Good Samaritan Hospice House.
Born April 29, 1921, in McClure, Phyllis was a daughter of the late Mabel (Heeter) and Lester Steininger. She is survived by Robert Zeigler, her beloved husband of almost 73 years.
Also surviving are: four daughters, Judith Whitehouse, Susan (Larry) Carson, Deborah (Robert) Maskey and Kathy (Joe) Molek; grandchildren, Robert (Beth) Whitehouse, Samuel (Justine) Whitehouse, Beth (Bill) Conkle, David (Annie) Brown, Heather (Stephen) Kampsen, Patrick McGuiness, Lisa Maskey, Kristen (Bill) Stauffer and Carrie Joe Molek; twelve great- grandchildren, Benjamin, Nicholas, Brendan, Fletcher, Finley Kate, Lauren, Benjamin, Ryan, Samantha, Jessica, Kyler and Ciara.
She was a 1939 graduate of Lewistown High School. Phyllis's family, faith and friends were always her priorities. She was an avid reader, gardener and loved her needlework, especially work/play with her quilting friends of her home church.
In earlier years she and Bob might be found in their favorite place, in the woods collecting firewood to warm their home on chilly winter evenings or in summer tending their gardens.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at Concordia of Cranberry for local friends and family, and at a later date at St. John's Lutheran Church, in Lewistown.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Glenn- Kildoo Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 130 Wisconsin Ave., Cranberry Township.
