Tractor-trailer topples, spills cereal onto U.S. 322

A tractor-trailer containing boxes of cereal lies on its side against the guide rail after an accident around 9:15 p.m. Tuesday near the U.S. 322 east on-ramp at Shaw Avenue in Lewistown. Lewistown Police Department said the driver, who was traveling east on U.S. 322 near the ramp, said a blown tire caused the crash. Police said the cause of the accident is unknown at this time. Police said the driver sustained no injuries but received a precautionary medical exam by Fame EMS. LPD was assisted at the scene by Fame EMS, United Fire and Rescue, Port Royal EMS, Brooklyn Hose Co., City Hook and Ladder, Derry Township Fire Police and Lewistown Fire Police.
