MIFFLINTOWN - Verna N. Myers, 89, of Mifflintown, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, at the Lewistown Hospital.
Born Aug. 11, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Nora (Arnold) Nealman. She is survived by her husband, Harold C. "Brownie" Myers, whom she married on May 12, 1940.
Also surviving are: one son, Brady Myers, of Mifflintown; one grandson, Adam Myers and wife, Renee, of Thurmont, Md.; one granddaughter, Heather Baker and husband, Bo, of Mifflintown; and five great-grandchildren, Solomon Baker, Jubal Baker, Bogey Baker, Nolan Myers and Amelia Myers.
She was preceded in death by: one son, Earl Myers; one granddaughter, Erin Myers; three sisters, Irma Hosler, Bessie Bossinger and Sarah Zimmerman; and five brothers, Book Nealman, Banks Nealman, Brady Nealman, Pete Nealman, Ben Nealman and Wills Nealman.
Verna was a presser at Mifflin Dry Cleaners for many years.
She was a member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking.
There will be a memorial service at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, 8489 Licking Creek Road, Mifflintown, with the Rev. Chris Mathiason officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
There will be no viewing.
