MIFFLINTOWN - The preliminary hearing for a McAlisterville man accused of robbing three banks has been continued.
Richard L. Lockett, 38, allegedly stole over $20,000 from three different banks over a period of nearly 30 days, police said.
Lockett was scheduled for a hearing on Wednesday, however that was continued until Dec. 19, at Magisterial District Barb Lyter's office.
Lockett is charged in connection with the robberies of the First National Bank in Thompsontown on Oct. 22, the Juniata Valley Bank in Port Royal on Oct. 27 and the Swineford National Bank in Beaver Springs on Nov. 5, court documents indicate.
Lockett remains in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in lieu of $300,000 bail. He is represented by Steven Manbeck.
