LEWISTOWN - Donald A. Solomon, 82, of Lewistown, died at 10:53 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at Lewistown Hospital.
Born on May 7, 1930, in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late Harold A. and Mary E. (Shope) Solomon.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Faye I. (Bower) Solomon, on Dec. 22, 2009.
Also preceding him in death, was a son, Forrest C. Solomon, in 1981, and a brother, Harold F. Solomon.
He is survived by: children, Randall D. Solomon and wife, Susan, of Naperville, IL; Debra F. Teeter and husband, Thomas, of Endicott, NY; Terri Jo Phillips and companion, John Brockway, of Groton, NY; and Kelli A. Drukemiller and husband, Scott, of McClure.
He is also survived by a sister, Linda Ely and husband, James, of Mill Hall; 10 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three step-great grandchildren.
Donald was a 1948 graduate of Lock Haven High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He was a store manager at Burnham Jamesway Corp. for 26 years, retiring in 1993. He was also a member of the Kiwanis Club.
He was an avid fisherman, enjoying taking his children and grandchildren fishing. He enjoyed time with his family and friends, woodworking and loved his pets, especially his dog, Beau.
Funeral services will be held at noon, Saturday, Nov. 24, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Inc. Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown. The Rev. Steven Swigart will be officiating.
A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday at the funeral home.
Interment will take place in Rest Haven Cemetery, Lock Haven.
