REEDSVILLE - James W. McElhenny, 75, of Liberty Lane, Reedsville, died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, at his residence.
Born April 11, 1937, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Gerald and Ruth (Shreffler) McElhenny. He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Wise) McElhenny, whom he married Aug. 22, 1975.
Also surviving are: children, Steve McElhenny and wife, Weni, Mark McElhenny and wife, Yvonne, Chris McElhenny, Penny Dollins and husband, Douglas, Pam Fiedler and husband, Rowland, Debbie Dobson and husband, Les, all of California, Terry Chandler and wife, Judy, of Tyrone, Jody Metz and husband, David, of McVeytown, Annie Bowman and husband, John, of Lewistown, Jeff Chandler and wife, Chantel, of Reedsville; sister, Alice Heading, of Washington; brother, Gerald McElhenny and wife, Susan, of Lewistown; sister-in-law, Carol McElhenny, of New York; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jim was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Trisha Chandler, a stepson, David Wise, and a brother, John McElhenny.
Jim was retired from the U.S. Air Force, having served 22 years. He was also retired from the Huntingdon County Prison.
He was a 1956 graduate of Lewistown High School.
He was a member of the Windy Hill Church, Eagles Club and Vietnam Veterans Club Chapter 791.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at the Barr Funeral Home Inc. 120 Logan St., Lewistown, with Pastor James Everly officiating. Interment will be held in Juniata Memorial Park, with graveside military services by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7011.
A viewing will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at the funeral home.
