McVEYTOWN - Sally Ann Hoy, 78, of Mountain Road, McVeytown, went to be with the Lord at 7:22 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born Feb. 15, 1934, in Lamar, she was a daughter of the late Lazelle R. and Dorothy C. (Wright) Lowery. Her husband, Ray F. Hoy, preceded her in death on Dec. 23, 1978.
Surviving are: five children, Carol C. Laughlin and husband, Randy, of Lewistown, Cynthia L. Prough and husband, James, of McVeytown, Steven R. Hoy and wife, Pamela, of Lewistown, Bradley S. Hoy Sr. and wife, Anna, of McVeytown, and Terry W. Hoy, of McVeytown; five siblings, Martha Gravish, of Mill Creek, Lois I. Mumper, of New Germantown, L. Melvin Lowery, of Wingate, Peggy L. Marter, of Hollidaysburg, and Richard O. Lowery, of Julian; 11 grandchildren, Clinton K. Laughlin and fiancee, Keri Blessing, Lori R. Chilcote and husband, Don, Nathan J. Prough and wife, Blaire, Matthew R. Hoy and wife, Rene, Jeremy S. Hoy and wife, Mayra, Aaron "A.J." Hoy, Bradley S. Hoy Jr. and companion, Robbie Freed, Damian B. Hoy, Curtis L. Sunderland and wife, Jenn, Natalie J. Hoy, and Alexis R. Hoy; 18 great- grandchildren, Maci, Jessie, Cole, Madelyn, Holley, Axel, Robert, Matthew, Kenneth, Michael, Jera, Kateri, Dashel, Kaden, Lilly, Lauryn, Gage and Trenton.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Lloyd Lowery.
She was last employed as a custodian at the Tuscarora Intermediate Unit 11, in McVeytown.
Sally was a member of the Pine Glen Church of the Brethren and loved preparing and hosting family feasts. She also enjoyed reading and word searches.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at the Pine Glen Church of the Brethren, 61 Pine Glen Road, Lewistown, with the Rev. Donald E. Peters Jr. officiating. Interment will be held in Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, at Harshbarger Funeral Home, 3 S. Market St., McVeytown, and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Saturday, at the church.
