McCLURE - Roberta G. Coldren, 84, of McClure, Decatur Township, went to be with her Lord at 11:45 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at her home, surrounded by her family.
Born on June 2, 1928, in Dayton, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Grace S. (Liechty) Wiles.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Walter E. Coldren, on Jan. 11, 2004.

She also was preceded in death by: a stillborn son, David; infant sister, Estaline Wiles; brother, Robert J. Wiles; and sister, Alta Long.
Roberta is survived by: children, Sara D. Trego and husband, Stanley, of Lewistown, and Paul E. Coldren and wife, Denise A., of McClure; brother, Truman D. Wiles and wife, Marie, of Eugene, Ore.; sister, Dawn Powers, of Desert Hot Springs, Calif.; five grandchildren, Sara Beth, Roberta and Susan Trego, Jonathan Coldren and wife, Bethaney, and Rebekah Sprenkel and husband, James Jr.; and one great-grandchild, baby Sprenkel, due April 27, 2013.
She graduated from Green Township High School in Smithville, Ohio, and was employed as the school secretary for four years after graduation. Other employment included secretarial work at Sears in Chicago, Ill., and Sheridan Manufacturing Co. in Wauseon, Ohio. She was a sewing machine operator for the Kirby Manufacturing Co., retiring in Jan. 1992. She most recently worked as communications developer for the Middle Pa. District Church of the Brethren.
She was a member of the Maitland Church of the Brethren where she taught Willing Workers Sunday school class and was a member of the quilter group.
Prior to her marriage, she gave a year to the denomination's Brethren Volunteer Service program working with the Chinese Project in Chicago, Ill. She served as Sunday school teacher for many years, taught vacation Bible school, was involved in church choir and volunteered many hours in a secretarial capacity. She served on the district level as secretary of the district youth cabinet, nominating committee and district clerk in northern Ohio. In Middle Pa. District, she served on the Nurture Commission, district board and was head teller of district conference for seven years. In community activities she was a 4-H leader for 10 years and a den mother of Shawnee Council Cub Pack 155 for five years.
Roberta's funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, at Maitland Church of the Brethren, with the Rev. Charles M. Eldredge, officiating.
Viewing will be held from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 13, at Heller- Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Inc., 108 First Ave., Burnham, and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
Interment will take place in Maitland Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
