LEWISTOWN - Neil W. Harbst, 78, of Lewistown died on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at his home.
Born May 19, 1934, in Burnham, he was a son of the late Abraham V. and Dorothy M. (Havice) Harbst.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Harbst, and one brother-in-law, Walter Shore.

He is survived by: children, Ronald V. Harbst, of Jewett City, Conn., and Denise Kelley and her husband, Jay, of Alvin, Texas; sister, Kathryn Shore, of Camp Hill; brother, Larry Harbst and his wife, Bonnie, of Lewistown; two grandchildren, Donna Terrell and Jessie Kelley, of Alvin, Texas; nieces, Karen Sue Shore, of Camp Hill, and Jill Boulanger and her husband, Emile, of Lewistown; and nephew, Russell Harpster and wife, Janice, of York, S.C.
Neil was a 1952 graduate of Burnham High School, served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict and was a Protestant by faith.
He worked at General Electric in the space program and later was a partner in a process server company.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid Steelers fan.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes Inc., Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Roz Mason officiating.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, at the funeral home.
