To the editor:
To the many angels I met and was blessed to have encountered on Wednesday, Oct. 3. Some of you are totally unaware that you literally saved my life, and for that, I can never thank you enough. I just hope and pray that you see and read this letter.
At approximately 1:25 p.m., on route to a follow-up checkup with my primary care physician at Geisinger Medical Center, I experienced a medical emergency. I stopped my vehicle alongside a sidewalk in Lewistown and came across a very patient gentleman who was loading items into his white van. Although I doubt he knows it, his kindness and consideration helped me reach the medical center and receive the medical attention I needed. When I arrived at GMC, I met with both Dr. Natalie Steffen and Dr. Sharon Galvin. They both acted immediately and with great experience, composure and efficiency correctly assess the situation and sought the additional assistance from a wonderfully skilled crew of the Fame Emergency Medical Services. The crew from Fame stayed with me as we arrived at Lewistown Hospital and where I promptly got a Life Flight from a skilled helicopter team to another destination.
Everyone - Dr. Steffen, Dr. Galvin, Fame, the doctors and nurses at Lewistown Hospital and the helicopter crew - acted with such speed, expertise, professionalism and kindness. I would not have survived without each one of you and your efforts on that afternoon. Again, thank you so very much.
I am so blessed to have the amorous support of my wonderful family and friends who have overwhelmed me by their love. I can never thank you all enough and for your loving sentiments and acts of love. You have left me feeling so cherished and have given me peace during this difficult time. Thank you for all of your thoughts, prayers and support and for making me feel so loved.
