SAXTON - Tussey Mountain used two first-half touchdown passes from Eric Husick to defeat Mount Union in an Inter-County Conference game Friday, 32-7.
Husick connected with Lance Barnett on a 30-yard touchdown in the first quarter, and found Mitchell Corbin from 38-yards out in the second. Corbin later ran for a 29-yard touchdown, finishing with 76 yards on the ground.
Daniel Taylor added two touchdowns for Tussey, scoring on a 55-yard punt return to open the scoring and adding a touchdown run of 7 yards in the third quarter.
Mount Union added it's only score in the fourth quarter when Kahlil Fortson hit Jamal Smith for a 64-yard touchdown pass to close the scoring.
The Trojans struggled offensively, running the ball 19 times - and losing 16 yards on the ground overall. Kord Aurand's six-yard night was the best performance for the visitors rushing.
In the air, Fortson had a better night, connecting on 15 of 27 passes for 200 yards. But a third of that was on the late-game touchdown. Fortson threw only one interception, but the Trojans fumbled the ball five times, and two of those were recovered by Tussey.
