Lillian C. Flood

ORBISONIA - Lillian C. Flood, 88, formerly of Blairs Mills, died at 6:15 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, at the Woodland Retirement Community, Orbisonia.

Born May 15, 1924, in Altoona, she was a daughter of the late Jeff and Hulda (Burkholder) Kling. She was married to Glenn D. Flood on Mar. 28, 1941, in Winchester, Va. Mr. Flood preceded her in death Dec. 14, 2004.

Surviving are: two children, Harold G. Flood and his wife, Louise, of Reedsville, and Carolyn Fleming of Blairs Mills; four grandchildren, Lynne Taylor, Karen Moffit, Steve Flood and Terry Fleming; 11 great-grandchildren, Tonya Taylor, Briana Taylor, Lily Taylor, Caitlin Moffit, Annie Moffit, Sarah Moffit, Jacob Flood, Jared Flood, Jackson Flood, Rachel Fleming and Nate Fleming; and five great- great-grandchildren, Caleb Barter, Anna Barter, Alex Cruz, Breah Sheed and Lily Taylor.

Also surviving are two sisters, Maxine Brown, of Upper Montclair, N.J., and Marlene Wendt, of Thompsontown.

Mrs. Flood was preceded in death by: one great- granddaughter, Megan Fleming; one son-in-law, James Fleming; two sisters, Thelma Hope Goshorn and Marjorie Kling; and one brother, Max Kling.

Mrs. Flood was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church, Blairs Mills, where she served as pianist, youth leader, historian and also served on various other committees. She was also a 4-H leader in Blairs Mills for a number of years.

Along with being a homemaker and working on the family farm with her husband, she was employed at Greif Brothers Manufacturing Inc., Mount Union., and at the sewing factory in Spring Run.

She enjoyed reading, puzzles, sewing, gardening and baking for family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, at the Salem United Methodist Church, 20224 Salem Road, Blairs Mills, with Pastor Luvania Renninger officiating. Interment will be made in Salem Cemetery, adjoining the church.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley St., Orbisonia, and from 1 p.m. until the time of service on Sunday, at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salem United Methodist Church, c/o Nancy Cisney, 19790 Mt. Foot Road, Blairs Mills, PA 17213 or to the Salem Memorial Cemetery Fund, c/o Earl Parsons, 20790 Parsons Farm Road, Blairs Mills, PA 17213.
