MOUNT UNION - Charges were filed Wednesday against Brandon Hampton, 28, of Mount Union, after he allegedly stole a shotgun, around $20,000 worth of jewelry and a checkbook from Carolyn Blosser at her South Division Street residence, Mount Union Police Department said.
According to the report, Hampton wrote several checks to himself from Blosser's checkbook.
Police said Hampton was arraigned on charges of burglary, theft, receiving stolen property, forgery and persons not to possess firearms before Magisterial District Judge Mary Jamison.
Police said Hampton was lodged in the Huntingdon County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
According to the report, Hampton is also being detained for a probation violation. Police said the investigation is ongoing and additional arrests may be made.
