To the editor:
I'm in eighth grade and this is my opinion on school lunches and "Pack Your Lunch Day" created on Facebook.
Our school lunches are absolutely terrible, and I'm glad students are attempting to take a stand. Kids can't learn on empty stomachs, and it's hard to concentrate when your stomach is growling during class.
In my opinion, more lower-calorie food would be better than the high-calorie, grade D, greasy, unappealing food they try to feed us. A lot of kids don't even eat, because the food is just that gross. Kids have bad attitudes, lower grades and added stress to their parents by begging for food as soon as get they home.
So, this is the new "healthy food" they want us to eat? Half the time I don't even know what's going into my mouth. I don't think I would even feed it to my dog.
We need real food. That's my opinion.
