Officials: One found dead at crash scene

MIFFLINTOWN - One person who was involved in a one-vehicle accident shortly after 5 p.m. Wednesday has died, according to the Mifflintown Hose Company website.

According to the website, Mifflintown Hose Company sent units to the area of 2869 Arch Rock Road for a report of one vehicle into a tree and one person unconscious. According to the website, when firefighters arrived Assistant Chief Shane Zimmerman reported cardiac arrest.

The website states a medical helicopter was on standby and when EMS arrived, bystanders reported that the accident was more than a half-hour old.

A report was not available from Pennsylvania State Police Lewistown as of press time Wednesday and an attempt to contact Juniata County Coroner Lee Snyder was not successful.
