LEWISTOWN - Howard Lindsey, 79, of 315 Alfarata Rd., Lewistown, peacefully went to be with his LORD and Savior at 1:40 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, surrounded by his family.

Born June 15, 1933, in Derry Township, he was the son of the late Norman B. and Myrtle C. (Aitkin) Lindsey. Howard is survived by his wife of 57 years, L. JoAnn (Knepp) Lindsey.

Also surviving are: a daughter, Elaine Wagner and her husband, Dale, of McClure; sons, Kevin Lindsey and his wife, Colette, and Kurvin Lindsey, both of Lewistown; two sisters and one brother, Melba Curtis-Hebeker and her husband, Fritz, of Mesa, Ariz., Mary Margaret Pecht and her husband, Richard, of Lewistown, and John E. Lindsey and his wife, Jackie, of Lewistown; grandchildren, Jamon Wagner and his wife, Joy, of Elizabethtown, Jodi Lynn Wagner, of McClure, Janae Smith and her husband, Brian, of Lewistown, Eric Lindsey, of Lewistown, Jerrin Wagner, of McClure, Chad Lindsey, of Lewistown, Devin Lindsey, of Berwick, Ian Lindsey, of Lewistown, and Kelby Lindsey, of Berwick; great- grandchildren, Benjamon Wagner, Ryanna Smith, Dawn Wagner, Nathaniel Wagner and E. Zachary Smith.

Howard was preceded in death by an infant sister, Vera, and grandchildren Jared Wagner, Tyler Lindsey and Erin Lindsey.

Mr. Lindsey worked at Standard Steel as an electrician and owned rental property for 30 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War.

Howard was a member of the Paintersville CMA Church and was the founder and President of the Rental Property Owner Association of Central Pa., State Board of Residential Property. He was also a member of several antique machinery associations, lifetime member of Decatur Fire Co., and a member of the 1951 Class of Derry High School.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, at the Painterville CMA Church, with the Rev. Thomas Wright officiating. A viewing will be held from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, at the Barr Funeral Home, Inc., 120 Logan St. Interment will be in Samuels Cemetery.
