William A. ‘Bill’ Harper

BELLEVILLE - William A. "Bill" Harper, 77, of 222 Hartzler Drive, Belleville, died at 1 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, at Valley View Haven.

Born Oct. 19, 1934, in McAlevy's Fort, he was the son of the late William A. and Mary Laverne (Sipes) Harper. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marie M. (McCall) Harper, on Nov. 2, 2003.

William is survived by: his second wife, Beverly A. (Traxler) Fultz-Harper; stepchildren, Teresa Adams and her husband, Richard, of Mattawana, Lisa Fultz, of Belleville, Denise Stout and her husband, Mark, of McVeytown and Kenneth Fultz Jr. and his wife, Becky, of Mill Creek; stepgrandchildren, Richard Adams Jr., Matthew Adams, Jenna Fike, Mackenzie Fultz and Rylee Fultz; stepgreat- grandchildren, David Adams, Quentin Adams, Ivy Adams, Logan Fike and Alexis Fike; sisters, Joanne Reynolds and her husband, Robert, of Sterling, Va., Mary Elizabeth Bruns and her husband, Ted, of Forest Hills, Md., and Linda Ross and her husband, Kevin, of Huntingdon.

Bill graduated from Huntingdon Area High School in 1952. He was a machinist at New Holland, Belleville, and retired in 1991 after 39 years of service.

He was a member of Watts Memorial United Methodist Church, Belleville, and a former member of Ennisville Methodist Church, where he served as Sunday school superintendent for more than 30 years. He was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, Huntingdon County, for 12 years and a member of the TGIR club, Belleville.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at Watts Memorial United Methodist Church, with Pastor Doug Pierce officiating. A viewing will be held at 10 a.m. until the time of the service, at the church. Burial will take place in Mooresville Cemetery.
