TUCSON, Ariz. - Amy Eichenlaub Snyder, age 36, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, at Peppi's House, an inpatient hospice unit at Tucson Medical Center, after a year-long battle with melanoma.
Born Oct. 24, 1975, in Lewistown, Amy graduated from Lewistown Area High School in 1994 and Juniata College in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science degree in geology. With a life-long passion for rocks and minerals, she pursued a career as a geologist and earned her Master of Science from the University of Arizona in 2007.
During her career, Amy worked for Asarco Ray Inc., Kenncott Exploration, Phelps Dodge, Bell Copper, Bell Resources and most recently, for Freeport-McMoRan in Green Valley, Ariz.
Amy enjoyed traveling to exotic places, hiking, high fashion, geology, good food and wine, music and her beloved Malamute, the late Taku.
She is survived by: her husband of four years, Kevin B. Snyder; daughter, Finley Lake Snyder, 23 months; parents, Dr. David A. and Virginia Eichenlaub, of Lewistown; and her brother, David L. Eichenlaub and his wife, Kristen, of Rhododendron, Ore.
